Thanjavur Medical College has MCh Neurosurgery course for the past 3 years so Corresponding to that DM Neurology course has to be started in Department of Neurology. The Department of Neurology, in Thanjavur Medical College has got all facilities and adequate Bed strength and OP Strength to Start DM Neurology.
The Out Patient number and Call over from Various Departments is increasing day by day by Starting DM Neurology Course Manpower will be increased in Department and better care can be given to the Patient 1500 Epilepsy Patient s , 1000 Stroke Patients,1000 Migraine Patients and 200 Parkinson Disease Patients getting regularly treatment in our OP20 New Stroke patients ,More than 20 New Epilepsy Patients, More then 15 Migraine and other Headache Patients, 10 Movement Disorder Patients attending per OP day. More than 10 Stroke Patients Admitted in our Hospital per Day By starting DM Neurology course, a stroke unit may be started and round the clock care can be given to patients.
GBS , STATUS EPILEPTICUS Patients need intensive care and Neuro intensive care unit urgently needed. Research activities may be undertaken by starting DM neurology course. 5 Districts can be benefitted because of Improvement in Manpower – Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Thiruvarur, Nagaipattinam, Ariyalur districts.
